Argentina participará el próximo mes de julio en la cumbre de los países que integran el grupo de los BRICS –Brasil, Rusia, India, China y Sudáfrica– que se desarrollará en la ciudad brasileña de Fortaleza, gracias a la invitación de Rusia, que ha sido confirmada este miércoles por su ministro de Exteriores, Sergei Lavrov. Este encuentro, que tendrá lugar el próximo 15 de julio, será la sexta cumbre que el grupo económico mantiene desde su creación, en 2008. El anuncio de la participación de una delegación argentina se produce tras una reunión entre Lavrov y el canciller argentino, Héctor Timerman, en Moscú. De la misma forma, el ministro de Exteriores ruso ha recordado que el presidente, Vladimir Putin, llevará a cabo una gira por América Latina, durante la que se reunirá con la presidenta de Argentina, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. Estos contactos se deben, entre otros motivos, al interés ruso por incrementar sus inversiones en el país sudamericano. Los países que integran el grupo de los BRICS, considerados como economías emergentes, suponen en conjunto una cuarta parte del Producto Bruto Mundial, el 43 por ciento del total de la población y un quinto de las inversiones globales existentes. En 2010 se sumó Sudáfrica a los países que iniciaron esta andadura. |

Argentina will participate nest July in the summit among the countries that make up the group of the BRICS –Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa– which will be held in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza, thanks to the invitation from Russia that was confirmed this Wednesday by Russia´s Exterior Minister, Sergei Lavrov. This summit, which will be held on July 15th, will be the sixth meeting of this economic group from its inception in 2008. The announcement of the Argentinian delegation´s participation was made after a reunion between Lavrov and the Argentine Chancellor, Héctor Timerman, in Moscow. Furthermore, the Russian Minister of the Exterior made it a point to say that his president, Vladimir Putin, will be doing a tour through Latin America, during which he will be meeting with Agentina´s President, Cristina Fernández de Kichner. This contact come from, among other reasons, Russian interests in increasing its investment in the South American country. The countries that make up the BRICS group, considered as emerging economies, account for one fourth of the world´s Gross Domestic Product when put together, 43 percent of the world´s total population and a fifth of existing global investment.
