El Banco Central Europeo (BCE) y los bancos centrales nacionales del Eurosistema publican hoy en Internet un nuevo juego educativo para explicar su «compleja» labor a los jóvenes de entre 18 y 25 años. En un comunicado, el BCE ha explicado que el juego, llamado “Top Floor ¡Llega hasta arriba!”, se compone de una serie de preguntas interactivas que se desarrollan en los ascensores de una versión ficticia de la futura nueva sede del supervisor bancario europeo. La misión de los jugadores es obtener siete documentos informativos y entregárselos al Consejo de Gobierno del BCE, que se encuentra reunido en la última planta del edificio. A medida que los participantes van subiendo en los ascensores tendrán que ir respondiendo a las preguntas de opción múltiple referidas al marco institucional, la organización y las funciones del organismo, del Eurosistema y del Sistema Europeo de Bancos Centrales (SEBC). Por cada respuesta correcta, los jugadores obtienen uno de los documentos que necesitan. Según el BCE, este juego explica la «compleja» labor del BCE, del Eurosistema y del SEBC «mediante una experiencia divertida, además de informativa». En concreto, los participantes pueden hacerse una idea de los datos y los tipos de análisis que el Consejo de Gobierno tiene en cuenta a la hora de adoptar decisiones relativas a los tipos de interés de la zona euro. “Top Floor ¡Llega hasta arriba!” se ha elaborado en las 22 lenguas oficiales de la UE y está disponible en la sección de material didáctico de la página web del BCE y en los sitios web de los bancos nacionales y del Eurosistema. The European Central Bank (ECB) and the national central banks within the Eurosystem have published a new educational game today on the Internet to explain their “complex” job to young people between the ages of 18 and 25. In a news release, the ECB explained that the game, called “Top Floor: Make your way up!, is made up of a series of interactive questions that are posed in the lifts of a fictitious version of the future headquarters of the European banking supervisor. The goal of the players is to obtain seven informational documents and turn them in to the Governing Council of the ECB, which is having a meeting on the top floor of the building. As participants make their way up inside the elevators, they have to respond to multiple choice questions concerning the institutional framework, the organisation and the functions of the institution, of the Eurosystem and of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB). For every correct answer, the players receive one of the documents they need. According to the ECB, this game explains the “complex” job of the ECB, Eurosystem and ESCB “through a fun as well as informative experience”. Specifically, the participants can get an idea of the data and of the types of analyses that the Governing Council takes into account when adopting decisions related to interest rates in the eurozone. “Top Floor: Make your way up!” has been produced in the 22 official languages of the EU and is available in the Educational Material section of the ECB´s web page and on the websites of the national banks and the Eurosystem´s website.
