¿Quiénes son los principales exportadores de armas y a qué países venden?

Estados Unidos, Rusia, China, Alemania y Francia son los mayores exportadores de armas a nivel mundial, según un ranking del Instituto Internacional de Estudios para la Paz de Estocolmo (SIPRI, por sus siglas en inglés).

Entre éstos cinco controlan el 73 por ciento del mercado de exportaciones de armas, destacando Estados Unidos (con un 31% del mercado en el periodo comprendido entre 2010 y 2014) y Rusia (con un 27%). Por su parte, China, Alemania y Francia se reparten un 5 por ciento, cada uno, del mercado.

También España aparece en el ránking. Controla el 3 por ciento de la exportación de armas a nivel mundial y sus mejores clientes son Australia (24% de sus exportaciones), Noruega (10%) y Arabia Saudí (10%).

Los tres principales clientes de Estados Unidos en el periodo comprendido entre 2010 y 2014 fueron Corea del Sur (9%), Emiratos Árabes (8%) y Australia (8%), mientras que los mejores clientes de Rusia fueron India (39%), China (11%) y Argelia (8%).

En este otro gráfico se puede ver los principales importadores de armas:
Lidera el ránking India, que controla el 15 por ciento de las importaciones de armas, seguido de Arabia Saudí (5%), China (5%), Emiratos Árabes (4%), Pakistán (4%) y Australia (4%). Completan el top-10 Turquía (3%), Estados Unidos (3%), Corea del Sur (3%) y Singapur (3%).

The U.S., Russia, China, Germany and France are the largest exporters of weapons world-wide, according to a ranking produced by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

Between these five, they control 73% of the arms export market, which is led by the U.S. (with 31% of the market between 2010 and 2014) and Russia (with 27%). Furthermore, China, Germany and France each have a 5% share of the market.

Spain also appears on the ranking. It controls 3% of the world-wide arms exports and its best customers are Australia (24% of its exports), Norway (10%) and Saudi Arabia (10%).

The main three importers of the U.S. in the period studied between 2010 and 2014 were South Korea (9%), the United Arab Emirates (8%) and Australia (8%), while the main importers of Russian arms were India (39%), China (11%) and Algeria (8%).

India leads the ranking and controls 15% of the world´s arms imports, which is followed by Saudi Arabia (5%), China (5%), the United Arab Emirates (4%), Pakistan (4%) and Australia (4%). To finish out the top-10 there are Turkey (3%), the U.S. (3%), South Korea (3%) and Singapore (3%).
